Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH), located in Ellicott City, Maryland, is a Roman Catholic Church with a parish of approximately 1,600 families and five buildings situated on a 21-acre campus. In the summer of 2016, OLPH completed an addition to its church building, which included a narthex and Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. The chapel, which is the only one of its kind in the area, was designed as a place for OLPH parishioners, members of four other local parishes and the community to pray any time of the day, any day of the week.
OLPH faced the issue of wanting to offer those who like to pray the opportunity to enter the chapel at any time, but did not want the responsibilities and challenges of a traditional access control system. VIZpin readers were installed on three of the building addition doors, including the entrance to the chapel. With VIZpin, OLPH can offer access to the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel to those who want to pray there between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m., with the assurance that the building is secure even without staff present. OLPH has benefited from cost savings and secure access, as well as ease of use and peace of mind.
